16 December 2013

On 14th December, we were awarded at a ceremony at Kensington Palace in London. There were 1300 local organisations from 60 countries who applied to the Impact Awards, run by Stars Foundation. We were selected against a range of criteria which reflect the hallmarks of effective practice (demonstrate a positive impact on the lives of disadvantaged children and excellent management practices). As part of the prize package, CWSN will receive $100,000 of unrestricted funding, $20,000 in tailored consultancy and a package of media support.

We have won this award for the second time and we are the first grassroots organization to do so. We would have not been able to achieve this milestone alone and we believe that this is a result of collaborative efforts. Therefore, we would like to thank all individuals and organizations who supported CWSN and its works directly and indirectly and helped us to achieve this milestone. We are also very grateful to STARS Foundation for recognizing our works and encouraging us to excel in what we are doing. The Awards recognise and reward effective, well-managed local organisations working to improve child health, education, protection and WASH (water, sanitation and hygiene) in the countries with the highest rates of under-five mortality.
