In the framework of the project “Civil Society Alliance for Child Rights in South Asia” (CSACRSA), a regional communication campaign is taking place in 2013. It supports in addressing core issues on children’s rights to the wide public as well as to institutions and relevant stakeholders.

Lower Secondary Level Drawing and Secondary Level Dance Competition is a part of our communication campaign, My Family is My First Right, which was organized by CWSN at Palpa district in coordination with three alliance partners, Indreni Samaj Kendra (ISK), Backwardness Eradication Society (BES), Social Rise Help Center (SRHC) as well as District Child Welfare Board and District Child Network, Palpa on 30th July 2013.

There were all total 16 groups in Secondary Level Dance Competition and 23 participants in Lower Secondary Level Drawing Competition from governmental and private schools of Tansen Resource Center. The title of the competition was “The Role of Family in Child Rights Protection”, based on the slogan of our advocacy campaign, Caring Family is the Children’s first right. Raising greater awareness on child rights and greater sensitivity in dealing with children, in all stakeholder groups were the major objectives of these programmes.

In the Secondary Level Dance Competition, New Horizon Boarding School became able to win the first prize whereas St. Capitano Boarding School won the second prize. Similarly, Siddhi Binayak Boarding School became third winner of the competition whereas Palpa Paragon Boarding School became fourth.

Similarly, in the Lower Secondary Level Drawing Competition, Asma Rana of Palpa Aawasiya School won the first prize; Kamala Kanauje of St. Capitano won the second prize. Likewise, Deepak Aale of Prepatory School and Ankit B.K. of New Horizon Higher Secondary School became able to win the third and fourth prizes respectively.

Child Rights Officer (CRO) and Child Rights Advocacy Officer (CRAO) from CWSN made all the necessary arrangements where CRO highlighted the programme objectives. The Chief District Officer (chief guest) and the Local Development Officer of Palpa were the key invitees in the competition.
