Art is a self expression tool for the young children. This therefore, is considered as one of the most important topics in the Early Childhood Development Curriculum. Owing to this fact, ECCE team carried out a 3 months Art Project in its working areas (13 ECD centres) from mid of March to June.

Within this period, the facilitators were trained and the children were given opportunity for the regular practice in their classroom. After 3 months, 2 children between 3 and 4 years from each center and a total of 26 participated in the art competition which was held in 5 different centers, Pasgaun, Nagidhar, Gahate, Bhachok and Saimarang. Children did their best and the grading was given to them on the basis of few criteria such as drawing according to topic, colour combination, neat drawing and the use of techniques.

As selected by the art trainer, the winner of the competition was announced as Asha Pariyar of Gahate, Bishal Gurung of Rabaidanda, Anjali Nepali of Warchok and Milan Gurung of Singdi as first, second, third and fourth respectively. Finally, the children were given with art materials as prize and the centers with some amount of money for regular support and hard work.
