CWSN conducted a 4-day capacity building training and meeting with national alliance partners for 2 times from 21st -24th April and 6th – 9th May 2013 in Gorkha and Kathmandu respectively. The main purpose of the training was to provide knowledge on Information and Communication Technology (ICT), use of social media (emails, Facebook etc.), data management and report writing skills to the alliance members. This will ultimately support to draft effective reports on the situation of children for fund-raising and monitoring purposes as well as to enhance the Child Rights monitoring mechanism.

Several facilitators facilitated the training in which the Project Manager of CIAI gave her presentation about the use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) for human rights works. Likewise, IT Officer of CWSN supported her in interpretation and also explained the use of social media. In order to provide knowledge on data collection, analysis and report writing skills, one of the statisticians from Pokhara University carried out the session on the third day. Similarly, the Programme Manager of Kidasha also shared his experience on report writing and management skills with the participants. The Child Rights Officer of CWSN had concluded the training by distributing certificates to all the participants.

Altogether 35 participants took part in the training conducted at Gorkha. A similar training was conducted in Kathmandu for the remaining alliance members where a total of 32 people participated.
