Mr. Michael Jacobs

Michael Jacobs is a British Citizen. He retired as head of tax from a City law firm. After his retirement, he joined charities. He was particularly interested in working with a children’s charity. He had fallen in love with Nepal and the Nepalese people when he with his wife visited Nepal in 1999. He joined Kidasha (previously Child Welfare Scheme UK) as a trustee and was chairman in the same organisation from 2005 – 2011. He was also Honorary Secretary of the Academy of Social Sciences, another UK charity, which aims to be the voice of social science. While associated with CWS UK/Kidasha, he showed great commitment towards protection of the rights of the disadvantaged children in Nepal. He has also significantly contributed to the development of Child Welfare Scheme Nepal (CWSN) as a child-centred developmental NGO in Nepal. Currently, he is associated with CWSN as an honourary member. Mr. Jacobs is Chairman at Jacobs Intrinsic Strategy.

Mr. Rajendra Kumar Basnet

Permanent resident of Kathmandu, Mr. Rajendra Kumar Basnet has been involved in social work for the last two decades. He has been associated with several developmental organisations in Nepal as a volunteer. Mr. Basnet has been associated with Child Welfare Scheme Nepal for more than one decade and he has played an instrumental role in its development as an advisor and patron of the organization.  Owing to his contribution and volunteer service,  Child Welfare Scheme Nepal has recognised him as an honourary member of the organisation. Besides CWSN, He has been associated with several other Nepalese NGOs- Bal Kshetra Nepal and Sathi Nepal for a long time.  Mr. Basnet also has an extensive work experience in government service.
